Angelic Layer Vol. 5 by CLAMP; first edition, with color insert, out-of-print
$15

I love this series so much that this is actually the third copy of Vol. 5 that I own. I must have lent (and subsequently lost) about three other full copies of this series over the years, also. This is a good series, okay. It's a prequel to Chobits and it's a fun, exciting read.
![]() | Cromartie High School Vol. 1 by Eiji Nonaka $5 ANN link This manga is about the misadventures of high school delinquents, as narrated by a non-delinquent who happened to end up in this mess. It's a lot better than the anime; to be honest, it didn't translate as well to the screen. It made me laugh so hard I had to wipe away tears. It is unreservedly ridiculous, completely insane, and hilarious. Freddie Mercury is a character! Also a gorilla and a robot. |
Eureka Seven Vol. 3 by BONES / Jinsei Kataoka & Kazuma Kondou

If you liked the show (which is awesome), you'll like the manga.
FAKE Vol. 1, 3 & 4 by Sanami Matoh; out of print
$10 each
ANN link / Wiki article
A classic yaoi manga, this is NYC cops being bamfs and having enough UST to power a small city. (It becomes RST in volume 7.) Volume 2 was, sadly, lost during moving. Pretty much every character is awesome and I love all of them for different reasons. It starts out episodic, but starts weaving together into a bigger plot as the series goes on. Well paced, well executed, funny and sexy and emotional in turns—it's a classic for a reason! It does have guys making out, though, so if that's not your thing... (and if this is your thing then why are you not buying this series right now omg).
Flame of Recca Vol. 3 by Nobuyuki Anzai
$5

A classic shounen manga and anime from the nineties, it features a spunky team of delinquent heroes who are secretly ninjas with magical powers. If you like things like Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece, you might like this.
The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Vol. 1 by Sakura Kinoshita
$5
ANN link
Same person who wrote Tactics (which is further down this page)! It also got turned into an anime. It's still got the hallmarks of her style (good comedy, likeable characters, mythology basis, lovely art), but it falls more to the extremes—the comedy is more slapstick and the drama is more, well, dramatic.
Pieces of a Spiral Vol. 1 by Tachibana Kaimu
$4
ANN link
Sakuya and Wakyo are reincarnated and reunited only to discover that Bishu-sama — their master and mentor from a past existence — is in their midst and in grave danger from vengeful demons! Still unsure of their own powers and the nature of their cunning and elusive enemy, they must race against time to rescue Bishu from the dark forces that roil within his reincarnated form. (source)
Red String Vol. 1 and 3 by Gina Biggs
$3 each
A published version of the popular webcomic, this is a light-hearted, well-researched shoujo high school manga. The characters in particular are quite charming.
Secret Chaser Vol. 1 by Tamayo Akiyama; first edition
$4
ANN link
The mangaka was a member of CLAMP back when it was still a doujinshi circle. This manga follows the story of Tatsurou Shinozaki, a priest and private investigator who works to solve strange mysteries involving mystical influence. One day a woman comes to his church looking for the mysterious red penguin. She uses a post-hypnotic suggestion on him so that when the phrase “red penguin” is mentioned, he begins to hallucinate. As the journey to uncover the red penguin begins, secrets are uncovered about Tatsurou’s past, including a shadowy society that may be linked to his suddenly unreliable memory. (source)
Shoujo Beat: Compilation Edition Vol. 4
$3
This contains samples of six shoujo series: High School Debut, Monkey High!, Mixed Vegetables, We Were There, Blank Slate, and Captive Hearts. Um...I started to read it and then realized I was losing precious time getting sucked into the stories, so they're definitely interesting, especially if you're a shoujo fan. An interesting little read!
![]() | The Sky Over my Spectacles by Mio Tennohji; first edition, with color insert and dust jacket (perfect condition); for some reason this is selling for $50 at Amazon o_o $15 ANN link This is a cute & fluffy meganekko yaoi PWP. It's got some non-meganekko side stories, but it's basically boys having lots of sex and being adorable. |
Tactics Vol. 1 by Sakura Kinoshita & Kazuko Higashiyama
$5
ANN link
Same person who wrote Magical Detective Loki Ragnarok (above); they turned this into an anime, too. I'm tempted to describe this show as "Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji meets Mushi-shi." It has the skeletal outline of having a young man with a sexy demon sidekick (Black Butler) and the young man solves supernatural cases and tries to serve as a pacifistic goblin ambassador to the human race (Mushi-shi). Tactics is a better show than Black Butler, however; it has more in-depth characters, less pandering, more moral ambiguity, a great balance of humor and drama, and a cast of side characters who are genuinely likeable. There are shounen-ai overtones everywhere, of course, if that's your thing. The art is lovely and also did I mention that the demon sidekick is hot? Because he's hot.
I also have the full series of Mars (Vol. 1-15) and La Esperanca (Vol. 1-7), Vol. 1-6 of Love Mode, Vol. 1-3 of Lovely Complex, and Vol. 1 of Otomen. I'm quite attached to them, but willing to sell them for the right price. If you're interested, e-mail me (wildcygnet@gmail.com).

Planetes Vol. 5
$10

Planetes was sort of a sleeper hit, but it's a really good show. ...Of course, if you're interested in buying vol. 5 of it, you already know that.
Voices of a Distant Star

This is the first longer-ish work from Makoto Shinkai, the same guy who did 5cm/second, The Place Promised in our Early Days, and the trailer for Ef ~A Tale of Memories~. If you've never heard of this, well, he's kind of a big deal in the anime world. It's a gorgeous short piece, but also terribly sad, like everything else he writes. The DVD also includes "She and her Cat," which is his first real piece, and it's adorable and fascinating.

FABLES: Legends in Exile Vol. 1
$8 + $3 shipping
Wiki article (spoilers ahoy) / Review 1 / Review 2
Okay, seriously, this series won fourteen Eisner awards, and a short story was nominated for a Hugo. This series is awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm not going to try to explain it—just read the reviews, really.
FABLES: 1,001 Nights of Snowfall (Paperback)
$12 + $3 shipping
Wiki article
I'll be honest—I'm sad I have to give this one up; I haven't even read it yet. This book is in perfect condition, okay? It's a stand-alone prequel to Fable, with contributions by tons of authors/artists. I'd read a little bit of my friend's copy before I bought this one, and I loved it. The stories are completely compelling. If you're into awesome art and awesome storytelling, pick this up—you won't be disappointed!
Flight Vol. 1
$14 + $4 shipping
Wiki article
A bunch of independent comic writers hung out at a forum and eventually they decided to start publishing anthologies of comics on their own. The result of that is Flight. Flight is awesome. This is the series that got me into Western Comics. I also have Vol. 2 and 3, but I can't find them right now; when I find them, they'll also go on sale. Everything is full color, the art is amazing, the stories are really really deep and awesome, THIS IS SO GOOD. Seriously, it's very much worth your money.

I can embroider/applique, and I'm willing to make small cloth pouches for things. Things like iPods and smart phones, particularly, although you could use it to hold whatever you wanted I suppose. They will be customized with the embroidery of your choice! The caveat is that I'll start making it after you order it, and that may take a month or so. I will keep you updated on your pouch's progress as it goes along! I'm pretty good, so I can probably handle any designs you wanted, assuming they're not overly complicated and therefore too small for the pouch. I also can't draw, so I'll have to have a reference (you can provide one or I can find one and okay it with you).
